Vulcano Buono, Yg Shaped Commercial Center Volcano In Italy

Designed by Renzo Piano, which is located on Vulcano Buono Nola, Italy is a center of commercial buildings (shopping mall) is crowned by a conical thatched roof sloping green is beautiful. Vulcano Buono is a pretty important contribution for a new space located in the commercial area at the southern edge of the city of Nola who is the largest cargo terminal complex in central and southern Italy. Vulcano Buono building complex is a 'multi-center' which consists of hotel, Auchan hypermarket, multiplex cinema and galleries, 155 shops, and several restaurants and bars. At the center is a square-shaped circle that is usually used for concerts and certain events.


Inspired by the environment, Vulcano Buono has a sloping profile that rises from the ground so that it appears as a green grassy hill. Roof structure is covered by a carpet with a layer of vegetative composition more than 2,500 plants that help protect the interior space and reduce the visual impact of the structure so that almost no visible from space. The building is composed of a set of solid circles, which each have a different slope, which merge to form a cone-shaped structure, and open at the center that mimics the look of Mount Vesuvius. Edge of the 'artificial hills' has a height of between 25-41 meters, with a total diameter of 320 meters, with a square in the middle of the building which has a diameter of 160 meters.

Vulcano Buono project was started in 1995, construction work began in 2005 and completed in 2007 with sebayak spend 180 million euros, partly covered by a regional fund for reconstruction and development. The entire building is approximately occupies an area of 450,000 m2 with a floor area of 150,000 m2 and can accommodate 7000 cars in it.
